The Pharmaceuticals Department is concerned with dealing with all aspects of converting active pharmaceutical substances into pharmaceutical forms to be used safely, effectively and in the best manner suitable for the patient.

The student in the Department of Pharmaceutics studies several courses in the field of pharmaceutics and microbiology. The department focuses on studying the physical and chemical properties of the active and inactive substances involved in the formulation of pharmaceutical preparations and studying their effect on the effectiveness of the preparations, and how to manufacture different pharmaceutical compositions for all pharmaceutical forms. The department is also concerned with the study of quality control, the quality of preparations, and the various tests that are conducted on them to ensure their conformity with the specifications contained in the pharmacopeias and regulatory bodies.

The department also has distinct research activities in various fields of pharmaceuticals, such as formulation of pharmaceutical preparations, quality control of pharmaceutical preparations, modern systems for drug delivery to the body, study of drug kinetics and biotechnology, research related to microbiology, and pharmaceutical nanotechnology.
